Real Madrid: Three New Signings And What They Bring

As the 2019 International Champions Cup comes closer, the different clubs start to amass their squad for the upcoming season. Real Madrid have done some stellar work in the transfer market and we stand witness to a truly revamped team chock full of Galacticos. Zidane’s men have mainly focused on young talent, which might just be the way to rebuild the ageing squad he inherited.

We take a look at three signings that might feature in different parts of the ICC and how their performances may affect their chance of breaking into the first team come the fall.

Luka Jovic

Jovic joined Real from German side Eintracht Frankfurt for a hefty fee this summer after scoring for fun in the Bundesliga and the Europa League. Jovic is seen as one of the biggest attacking talents in the world and was on the radar of most clubs with a big wallet. His quickness and astute athleticism makes him an acrobatic and potent threat in any situation.

Eintracht fans have had some fun in the last few years and Luka Jovic has been one of the main reasons to this, but even they found the fee of about 65 million Euros to be impossible to turn down. He will be missed at Mainestrand, but one club’s pain is another club’s gain. Real Madrid will probably be on the right side of history with this one.

Rodrygo Goes

A brazilian wizkid with magical feet and a potent right foot? No, it’s not Vinicius, but Rodrygo, albeit the similarities are staggering. Joining the mighty Real Madrid from Santos at age 18 is no easy task and no simple adjustment, but indeed a dream come true.

Potential is not even a question with Rodrygo. His skills on the pitch are already good enough for many lesser clubs in Europe, and at 18, he will only continue to improve his game. Real Madrid has proven to be a special stepping stone for many young players. Many have failed, but a few have managed it. It will all be down to his willpower and frenzy on the pitch, if he’s to succeed where others have failed.

Eden Hazard

A new Galactico, a superstar with a finished and refined end product, one of the most exhilarating players on the planet - Eden Hazard can and will probably light up the ICC.

(Spoiler: he has done so in the past)

Tickets will be bought just to see him shine in his new white dress. Hazard sells tickets on his own, his name in itself makes fans turn up to their games to watch. It’s a signing of astronomical proportions, one that the Galacticos hope will pay off in no time at all.
